Modesto Scout Troop 11 spent the weekend at McCONNELL State Recreation Area near Livingston, CA. Attendees included
Boys:
Jordon H.
Brad R.
Kris P.
Wilson F.
Russel H.
Jared W.
Kendall P.
Conner F.
Trevor M.
Adults:
Bro. McAndrew & his father visiting from the lovely New Zeeland
Bro. Hamilton
Bro. Hansen
Bro. Decker
Bro. Peters
Bro. Stout
Bro. Fraise & his daughter Jessica stopped by as well
The president of the Fresno mission was our special guest speaker at Friday nights campfire followed by a cracker barrel at 10pm to keep them going for a few more hours. When we made it back to camp some boys hit the tent for Mountain Dew & face cards (contraband) found that if you don't zip up your tent you might have some critters joining them in the night. A few tents were evacuated and cleaned with only one tent condemed for the trip. We also happened to get a nice sprinkle during the early hours of the morning.
Some boys had to leave right after 7 so we found ourselves cooking some excellent breakfast burritos with egg, sausage, salsa, bacon etc at 6:30am. The rest of the day we became experts at outfitting an elk hunt, training a hound dog, flyfishing (well not experts yet), deer transplantation, duck preservation, waterfowl hunting, rifle shooting(it appeared that one boys gun was not functioning properly) and archery. It was too bad half the crew left after the fantastic egg-sausage-mcmuffin party because we had a great time.
